Kristen Galvan was trafficked by a gang who targeted her at the local high school and groomed her through Instagram. She went missing in January of 2020 and for 5 years her mother worked tirelessly to locate Kristen. In January of 2026 Kristens remains had been identified as the Fort Bend County Jane Doe, who was discovered 3 weeks after Kristen went missing in January of 2020.

The Trafficking Survivors Relief Act of 2025 establishes a federal legal framework allowing survivors to vacate certain convictions and expunge arrest records for non-violent offenses committed as a direct result of their exploitation.
